Notice of Price Increase: Examples and Checklist

A notice should make the change understandable at a glance.

Start with facts

Mention the effective date, affected service, new amount and any bookings exempt from the change.

Short sample notice

From [date], our [service] rate will change from [old amount] to [new amount]. Reservations made before that date will follow [policy].

Choose the right placement

Consider booking confirmations, emails and your pricing page. Make sure every channel displays consistent information.

Check before publishing

Review dates, currencies and contract conditions. Do not imply a legal obligation to accept changes without checking the agreement.

Website or booking-page notice

Price update effective [date]: [service] will be [new rate] per [unit]. Appointments already confirmed before [date] will follow [policy]. For questions, contact [channel].

Use a notice customers can read before checkout or booking, not solely after a payment is completed.

Printed notice versus email notice

A sign at your premises may help walk-in customers, while email gives existing clients a record. Use channels appropriate to the relationship and confirm that your terms allow the change.
